𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒐𝒚𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑹𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝑩𝒚 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝑬𝑹𝑩

EI sickness benefits will now be replaced automatically by the Canada Emergency Response Benefit.  

For some Canadians, this will be an increase in income and for others, this will be a decrease from $573 week to $500 week.  

If you were receiving EI before March 15th your EI benefits will remain however those receiving EI due to CVOID-19 will have their income supplement change from EI to the Canada Emergency Response Benefit.  

If you earned income above the maximum insurable income, you would have earned the maximum Employment Insurance of $537 week.  

You will now have your benefit decreased to $500 a week.  

However, for those who were under the maximum insurance income may now be seeing a supplement income increase.
